Preparing for Respiratory Virus Season: Updated Maternal Immunization Guidance and Strategies

Maternal immunization remains a critical component of prenatal care and a key strategy for protecting pregnant people and their infants from respiratory illnesses. To help you prepare for the upcoming respiratory virus season, the ACOG-led Maternal Immunization Task Force is hosting a webinar for health care professionals and public health agency staff focused on the prevention of COVID-19, influenza, and RSV during pregnancy. This webinar will provide an overview of the latest clinical recommendations and guidance for maternal immunization and equip health care professionals with the information they need to confidently counsel and vaccinate pregnant patients.

Participants will also learn practical strategies for vaccine storage, handling, and administration and pharmacy access to support efficient implementation and improve patient access to recommended vaccines. By addressing common barriers and sharing best practices, this webinar aims to help health care professionals increase vaccine confidence, acceptance, and demand and ultimately improve protection for pregnant people and their infants throughout the respiratory virus season.
