The Faucett Review: an AMCB Certification Exam Prep

Over the course of five hours, participants will review pertinent content and test-taking strategies to prepare for the AMCB Certification exam for Certified Nurse-Midwives and Certified Midwives. Participants will learn innovative test-taking tips to help them tackle the exam and gain confidence in approaching standardized exam questions. The Faucett Review method involves four components: Content, Discipline, Realism, and Strategy. Participants will need to watch the 3 and a half hours of video content prior to attending the live webinar. Content includes modules on: the AMCB exam psychology, setting realistic goals, making a study schedule, the art of studying effectively, how to approach practice quizzes, creating flashcards, practicing a blankie page, test-taking tips, metacognition, and test anxiety. In the one and a half hour live webinar, Dr. Faucett will cover common topics that students historically find to be the most challenging. Test-taking tips will be reinforced with sample questions. Content covered will include: Primary Care, Antepartum Care, Intrapartum Care, Postpartum Care, Newborn Care, and GYN. All topic areas are based on the AMCB candidate catalog Midwifery Skills Tasklist.

Infant feeding plan in the context of bipolar disorder and/or history of postpartum psychosis: an interdisciplinary patient centered approach

This webinar will include a brief overview of evidence-based treatment options for birthing people with Bipolar Spectrum Disorder (BPSD) and/or hx of postpartum psychosis (PPP), risks and mitigating factors for postpartum manic, depressive, and psychosis relapse, and review evidence related to BPSD and PPP treatment and recommended infant feeding. This base knowledge will be used to then discuss an interdisciplinary patient-centered approach to developing individualized postpartum feeding plan for birthing people with BSDP and/or history of postpartum psychosis that optimizes maternal and infant outcomes and patient satisfaction by providing informed choice and prioritizing patient autonomy.

Leading a Midwifery Practice: How and Why

For midwifery practice leaders (and aspiring leaders). Explores components of leadership, financial management, strategic planning, staffing, quality management, and performance evaluation. Participants will receive a workbook that includes all workshop slides, example forms for processes discussed, and worksheets to outline their own next steps and action plans.This is an 8-hour workshop split between two days (Sunday and Monday). This course will provide opportunities to engage an in-depth exploration of what maintaining a midwifery practice entails.

Ankyloglossia and Breastfeeding: Tongue Tie: What is it? and Why might it matter
