Midwifery Week 2026: Before You Were a Thought: Utilizing Preconception Care as a Strategy to Address Maternal Mortality and Morbidity

In this workshop, Certified Nurse Midwife and Birth Justice Advocate Shanti Moore will share why creating access to preconception care is an underutilized approach to mitigating rates of maternal mortality. Shanti also will elucidate how providing access to lab testing during the preconception period is a simple but viable approach to improving maternal health outcomes.
