Active Memberships (CNMs & CMs only)
Active memberships are full voting memberships in the College that are open to any CNM or CM. Along with the added benefit of listing your practice on Find-A-Midwife, membership includes a subscription to ACNM's peer-reviewed Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health (including online access); policy, advocacy, and practice updates; Quickening online weekly e-newsletters. Your membership entitles you to discounts on ACNM meetings, products, and CEs. Your membership also gives you access to ACNM Connect, our online members-only community.
Membership Types:
Active Member (CNMs & CMs only)
Full voting membership in the College, open to all CNMs & CMs
Annual dues: $400 + affiliate dues
Active - New Midwife (CNMs & CMs only)
Full voting membership for CNMs & CMs who have been certified for less than 2 years
Annual dues: $235 + affiliate dues
Active - Supporting (CNMs & CMs only)
Full voting membership for CNMs & CMs meeting one or more of these eligibility requirements: disabled; missionary; full-time volunteer; unemployed
Annual dues: $215 + affiliate dues
Active- Retired (CNMs & CMs only)
Full voting membership for CNMs & CMs who are retired and have been a member of ACNM for at least 15 years.
Annual dues: $100 + affiliate dues
Student (non-CNMs/CMs)
Membership for students enrolled in ACME-accredited midwifery education programs. ACNM Student Members have full voting rights. Membership includes discounts on ACNM meetings and products; subscription to the Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health (including online access), Quickening online news site also available in print, and weekly e-newsletters, Midwifery Now and ACNM Brief. Your membership also provides access to ACNM Connect, our online member-only community. Through our national office, your state affiliate, and ACNM Connect, you’ll be supported and welcomed into an inspiring community of midwives and midwifery students.
Annual dues: $100 + affiliate dues
Associate (non-CNMs/CMs)
Not open to CNMs/CMs or qualified students. Associate members are non-voting members who are "Friends of Midwifery," interested in midwifery and supporting the mission of ACNM. Membership includes a subscription to the Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health (including online access), Quickening online news site also available in print, and weekly e-newsletters, Midwifery Now and ACNM Brief. Enjoy discounts on products in the ACNM Store. Your membership also gives you access to ACNM Connect, our online members-only community.
Annual dues: $250
Active - Life Categories (CNMs & CMs only)
ACNM does not currently collect affiliate dues from ACNM Life Members but is working to create a standard mechanism for invoicing affiliate dues. Please note that per ACNM Bylaws, all Active members must also have an affiliate membership. If you are a Life member, please get in touch with your affiliate directly.
Active-Life: $6,000*
*Plus affiliate dues (either annual or lifetime, if offered)
Payment Options
Annually: 12 months from the point of sign-up for new memberships, and then renew for an additional 12 months annually thereafter.
IMPORTANT: By choosing this option, you are agreeing to fulfill your obligation to 12 installment payments for your annual membership. To avoid paying the administrative fee more than once per year, please keep your credit or debit card information current. Your membership cannot continue into the next month if it is unpaid. If your membership lapses, you will need to pay the administrative fee again to reinstate your monthly payments.
Hardship Dues Waiver Program: If you are a current ACNM member experiencing short-term, extreme financial hardship, you may be eligible for a temporary waiver of your National ACNM annual dues. You'll first need to log in and then click here to learn more about eligibility and the application process.
Refund & Cancellation Policy: ACNM membership dues are non-refundable. This includes the annual administrative fee for those paying in monthly installments. When a year of membership is purchased using monthly installments, this is a commitment to pay for a full year of membership, and monthly payments cannot be canceled.
