Global Health at ACNM

by Diana Spalding, CNM, DGH Communication Section

The Division of Global Health is excited to begin contributing to the ACNM blog! We will let you know about our upcoming events, news, and interesting work that midwives are doing around the globe.

In collaboration with the Department of Global Outreach (DGO), the Division of Global Health (DGH) contributes to worldwide efforts to improve the health of women and children globally through the advancement of the profession of midwifery. DGH seeks to promote the best evidence-based practices for women's and newborn health, support the education of midwifery students as global citizens, and increase the visibility of midwifery work internationally. By coordinating global research, education, networking, and communication across the membership, DGH works to support the strategic goals of ACNM while serving as a resource to its members with a global focus.

To kick off our blog post, we'd like to share the following article, published on, about the DGO Technical Advisor, Angie Fujioka, and the great international work she has done.
