The ACNM Benchmarking Project

Participation in the ACNM Benchmarking Survey helps midwives speak authoritatively to insurers, consultants, and policymakers about which clinical practices need to be encouraged or discouraged to produce excellent outcomes. The 2012 Benchmarking Survey is now closed.

Affiliate Challenge

The ACNM affiliate with the highest percentage of participation from qualified practices will be named winner during the 58th ACNM Annual Meeting & Exhibition!

Affiliate winners will receive:

  • A ready-to-use press release announcing the affiliate winners and "best practice" designations within the affiliate region.
  • An affiliate needs survey comprised of county level data from the counties where the midwifery practices are serving (good for demonstrating the NEEDS and vulnerability of the populations you serve).
  • A perinatal quality profile comprised of multi-stakeholder endorsed perinatal goals (good for practices and regions interested in sharing quality metrics with communities, clients, consultants, administrators, third party payers, legislators).
  • A complete return-on-investment report. Using state level Medicaid claims summaries, the report is designed by midwifery leaders and health economists to capture the value of quality. Health metrics with known economic costs will be used to demonstrate the value of midwifery care (i.e. elective induction of labor, preterm birth, cesarean section, and breastfeeding)
