Midwifery Research Interest Groups
The goal of the ACNM Research Groups is to facilitate women’s health research involving ACNM members, including advancement of the ACNM research agenda, by identifying active US midwifery researchers working in similar areas of importance to midwifery.
Objectives: Identification of up-to-date Research Interest Groups within ACNM is expected to:
1) Foster broad-based midwifery research by supplementing the Research
Advisory Networking (RAN) begun by the International Confederation of
Midwives (ICM).
2) Promote opportunities for multi-site U.S. based research.
3) Support potential mentoring relationships between new and experienced
researchers by providing another mechanism for identification individuals
involved in midwifery research and in specific areas of investigation.
4) Provide a service to ACNM members and other researchers that
facilitates rapid identification and contact between individuals of similar
researcher interests to more effectively stimulate and support
coordination of midwifery-focused research.
Process: 1) CNM/CM researchers who wish to be listed within a specific research group
or wish to modify their listing should notify the Networking Section chair
of the DOR (Kate O’Dell odellk@ummhc.org)
2) Members listed in an interest group may choose to organize e-mail
discussions, joint projects, or meetings at Annual Meeting; this type of
organization will not fall within the venue of the DOR at this time.
3) Contact information for CNMs/CMs listed on the interest group roster is
available in the ACNM on-line directory, through faculty webpages, or
through the ICM RAN Researcher listings. The following links are designed to extend ACNM
researchers to other
ACNM members and researchers to collaborate on common areas of study.
